Highland Gates near Dahlonega Ga Home of Gold Rush Days

Summer is just about spent and its a wonderful time to visit the Mountains of North Georgia. There is a lot going on here in the Highland Gates area. In addition to all the Corn Mazes and the fantastic fall foliage we have Gold Rush Days are held the third weekend in October (the 20th & 21st for 2012), when thousands come to see fall colors peaking and celebrate Dahlonega Discovered gold back in 1828.

Today you can still mine gold from the local creeks and rivers. But even if you don't find gold there are over 300 art and craft exhibitors gather around the Public Square and Historic District in support of this annual event, 200,000 visitors join in the fun and excitement! It is one of the top 20 Events in the southeast by the Southeast Tourism Society. This is one of the Joys of being a Highland Gates Resident during the fall season! Highland Gates still has lots available, come by and see us on your way to Gold Rush Days!
